C. “Webster” Marsh is a Lighting Controls Designer at Sladen Feinstein Integrated Lighting and as Education Manager for the Lighting Controls Academy. A Certified Lighting Controls Practitioner (CLCP), Webster is also Director of Education and Programming for ArchLIGHT Summit, creator of Tonight in Controls, and he co-hosts the Lighting Controls Podcast, helping professionals stay connected with the latest in lighting controls
Will Norris
Co-founder, VxV Solutions Inc.
As Co-founder of VxV Solutions Inc., Will Norris leads the delivery of innovative lighting control solutions for projects across the Greater Toronto Area. A Professional Electrical Engineer and Certified Casambi 4C Commissioning Partner, he has been instrumental in advancing the adoption of Casambi technology in Canada, bringing a modern, user-focused approach to smart lighting systems.
Will also lectures at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Chang School of Continuing Education, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of industry professionals. His passion lies in bridging technical excellence with practical application, ensuring that advanced lighting control solutions are both accessible and transformative.

With over two decades of experience, she’s one of Canada’s first Certified Lighting Designers, contributing to WELL® and LEED®-certified projects. Her expertise lies in promoting health through thoughtful, innovative lighting design.
Alicia Davila Monterrey
Senior Associate / Associée Principal at HLB Lighting & co-coordinator IALD Eastern Canada Chapter
Lighting designer with 20+ years of experience on landmark projects including Montréal City Hall, Toronto’s Union Station, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Professional member of IALD and IES, she co-chairs IALD Eastern Canada and speaks internationally on heritage lighting.
This advanced, hands-on workshop challenges you to move beyond theory and apply integrative lighting principles to a real-world design scenario — from brief to budget to final presentation. Led by Dawn Brown (OALD) and Alicia Davila Monterrey (HLB), two of Canada's leading voices in wellness lighting, this session is built for experienced practitioners who are ready to sharpen their skills under realistic conditions.
Working in small collaborative teams, participants will navigate a complete lighting design process — analyzing architectural drawings, developing a design strategy, selecting from a curated product library, and running photopic, melanopic, and UGR calculations using AGi32. Every decision will be evaluated against the kind of competing demands engineers face in practice: client goals, code compliance, human performance targets, and project budget.
The workshop follows a structured seven-step design methodology, with instructors guiding teams through project requirements, the CIE Toolbox S 026 for determining Daylight Equivalence Ratio (DER) values, and hands-on calculation practice. Teams will be scored across five dimensions — strategy, aesthetics, melanopic performance, UGR outcome, and affordability — making for a genuinely competitive and engaging experience.

Julia Vandergraaf
LC, MIES, Business Development Lead & Senior Lighting Designer, Thinkl Studio
With roots in theatrical lighting design, Julia made the transition to architectural lighting in 2007. Perhaps because of this background, she brings a unique awareness of the comfort and appearance of people, in addition to the depth and beauty that lighting can reveal in a space. Throughout her career, Julia has had the privilege of collaborating on a diverse range of projects, including high-end retail, hospitality, commercial, and residential spaces, as well as significant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal buildings. Julia has served on the board of the IES Toronto Section for the past 18 years, and is currently the Vice President. She is the recipient of multiple lighting design awards, and is NCQLP certified.
Dan Hadash
Senior Lighting Designer, lightSPACE at SMP Engineering
Dan Hadash, with 27 years in lighting, leads projects across commercial, healthcare, and public spaces. He is IES Calgary President and serves on key committees shaping lighting upgrades and industry engagement. He’s also active within the IALD and LIRC.
